Kouta was the best boy and my best friend. My son and I found him 5 years ago at the Longmont Humane Society. I let my son pick which dog we met. Most of the dogs were excitedly barking and jumping as we walked through. My son wanted to see the pretty dog trying to sleep. He didn’t want to play or run. He put his head on my lap and looked at me. He was renamed Lucky by LHS because he was transferred to LHS from a Denver rescue when his euthanasia date was approaching. He truly was lucky and we fell in love. Over the years he grew from a shy depressed nervous dog to a happy go lucky old man who loved his neck or butt scratched. He loved walks and did his best until the end. Things went downhill very fast so we had a “best day ever”. We went for a good car-ride and had a giant burger in the nice soft grass. We know you were tired and you did your very best. You are the best boy and we will adopt another elder dog, in your honor. I love you to the moon and back… until we meet again.
